Dreams have been a source of inspiration for creativity in all of human history – perhaps (probably) even as far back as “primitive” cave and rock art. I think of Milton dreaming his masterwork Paradise Lost, I think of Jean Valentine’s master poetry inspired by her dreams, I think of all of the sacred stories, myths and fairy tales that incorporate dreaming.
But bringing the inspiration of our dreams to the page or the canvas or the instrument or whatever form our creativity takes is not necessarily an easy process.
Join poet and Embodied Dreamwork Teacher/Practitioner Sue Scavo for a 3-month series of opening the mysterious world of dreaming and creativity. In this creativity seminar, we will open our dreams to begin to discover the many voices that live within us that want to be given form and are shouting to be heard. We will listen closely to the experiences in our dreams to open to the experiential and sensual process of creating.
Because it is often difficult to step into our creativity, to give ourselves the time to slow and listen to the voices within and the voices within our dreams, this seminar will work in two ways:
- Generative Seminar – A twice monthly seminar where we will have time to generate material from our dreams. We will work with prompts and exercises to open our intention to find our voices and give space to actually write/create.
This seminar is for anyone who is interested in exploring creativity and dreaming!
Wednesdays – 6-7:30pm EST
Summer Trimester: June 17, July 8, July 22, August 5, August 19, September 9, September 23
ALL SEMINARS WILL BE BE RECORDED FOR YOU ALSO.
